Retreats / Projects

come and join us for a two night retreat at the Bakken Campground in Acme, Washington on Friday September 9th to Sunday September 11th.

Mark your calendars for the next Prodigal Retreat (Sept 9-11, 2011). We’ve just found a campground site in Acme that will give us a great deal: two nights (Friday and Saturday) with one house that sleeps eight and campsites by the Nooksack (great fishing spot) for the rest. The house (cabin) has a kitchen, bathrooms, and an area for our meeting times. There are also fire-pits at the campsites and a local elk herd to amuse us. All this for only $25 for the whole weekend (we have to do the cooking, but that will be an adventure). You can come early on Friday and there is no extra cost for that – still only $25. Many hiking trails, a local fish hatchery, and even a landing strip for flights from a local pilot (we pay for the fuel). See tentative Retreat schedule below for what the weekend will be about (this is a flexible schedule all the way!).

speakers TBA soon.

Rebound of Whatcom County - Ray of Hope Camp

Dale and Dennis have been in contact with Rebound of Whatcom County and have suggested that we as a Prodigal ministry help out with their summer day-camp called Ray of Hope.  We think the best way we can serve these kids and their families is to offer a Pinewood race for them at the end of their camp in August. Since Dennis has all the equipment and we have men ready and willing to give, we thought this would be a great way for Ray of Hope camp to give the kids an opportunity they probably would not have had. We are asking all men to sponsor a car for a camper and a little extra for trophies, prizes, etc. We are aiming at 25 cars for 25 kids, each car being about $5. We would like to have some extra for the rest, so we are asking men to sponsor a car for $10.   Dennis and I, and whomever has the time and the flexible schedule, will help the kids build the cars and then have them race-ready in August. The camp dates are from June 27th - August 12th.
